The Welcome
Getting all the visitors to Titisee was quite an operation for the Partnerstädte. The first arrivals from the U.K. were on Monday 12th July with 3 more on Thursday and the Rappers drove into Town in the Evening, the bulk of the Leighton Group including most of the band arrived in Zurich on Friday morning and were collected by the fire brigade and private cars, the final 5 arrived by train on Friday afternoon and the French Group who came by Coach all arrived Friday afternoon. All assembled in the Kurhaus for the official welcome in the late afternoon.
The Bürgermeister Mr Armin Hinterseh made the official welcome on behalf of the Town and we were joined for the session by the past Bürgermeister Martin Lindler and all the host families who were accommodating all the musicians.
The Grand Union Rappers were celebrating their 25th Anniversary and performing on the official programme of the Town's Summer Night Festival. To commemorate the visit they presented Mr Hinterseh with a hand made plaque.

The Group take their name from the Canal that bisects Leighton and Linslade with only a single road crossing the two symbols on either side are the knives that they dance with.
