Sunday 25th June
Well the sun is back and there is a second short walk on the agenda before we go and look at the lake in Titisee. Even better news as it is Sunday we get hard boiled eggs with the breakfast selection!

A view towards Switzerland ( lost in the mist)
This really was a very short walk but as you can tell from the
clouds the weather was not at its warmest yet. Luckily there was little wind.
but lots of wild life, we saw buzzards, kestrels and a fox whilst out on our
walks.
Then it was eventually onto a train to Titisee cost 3.20DM
each about £1.00 for 7 minutes. not much different from here really but it is
the same price on the bus and tickets are interchangeable. The dream of an
integrated transport system came to mind for some reason.
Titisee is the main holiday resort area for the town and has an atmosphere in places rather like Blackpool with its tatty souvenir shops and funny food outlets. I should say there are also some very good ones. The lake is almost crystal clear but as the bottom is black it is difficult to tell. It is claimed that the water is safe enough to drink straight from the lake.
These views are looking down the lake from Titisee just over 2.5km long 1Km wide and 143 m deep the lake freezes in winter and regularly sees ice skating taking place on it.
