Saturday 24th June
There was some think wrong when we got up on Saturday oh yes the sun was not shinning! It was damp and overcast as after breakfast we set out to explore the market that is held every Saturday near the tourist information Centre. The market consisted of about 20 stalls mostly selling fruit, vegetables or plants.

Behind the market stalls is a very charming river
The bridges
crossing the river are all decorated with flower boxes. and on the bridge in the
view there is a seat to rest on. Nothing is held down and nothing is in the
river!. Note also the condition of the road and foot paths in the market. We
have a lot to learn from our twin towns.
In the afternoon we moved into the main Town park which is a linear park situated behind the Cathedral and having the river flowing through it. This park had been turned into a medieval market with stalls and fancy dress. Most stalls were selling either food or drink and there were some original ways of cooking the food on offer. One group had built a water wheel in the river and used it to turn a spit roast. Quite an engineering effort.

A
contingent from one of the visiting Neustadt's form up to parade through the
park. Whilst an original post coach is stopped for photo opportunities.
