Waking up again

Sunday morning was interesting as we had the groups that had stayed overnight recovering at the various food outlets or just topping up the drink level whilst more Groups were arriving ready to enjoy the day. The weather was not at its best with a fine drizzle but it did little to dampen the spirits of the crowds who had come to enjoy the spectacle. Every where you looked there was colour and elaborate costumes The owls here are all produced from real birds feathers hand sewn onto the costumes. Some of the feathers are painted to provide the required effect.

Mask are the extra dimension to a Fasnet event the owners are very possessive and proud of them many are very old being handed down through the family most are made of wood or leather but some are now made from plastics..
