A Pirates Birthday.
50 years of the pirates guild of Titisee was celebrated over 3
days Friday to Sunday 7th - 9th January 2005. The event had
obviously
taken a great deal of preparation with over 90 other guilds taking part in the
celebrations. The focus of the events were on the area around the Roter Platz,
Kurhaus and the Seestraβe. The Fools village was set up on the car park next to
the Titisee Passage and consisted of a number of large marques which were used
for a number of discos etc One seemed to be being fitted out for giants judging
by the size of the stools!
The Seestraβe was still quit quiet when we arrived as can bee seen in this view from the Hotel Maritim looking up towards the town centre. It was nice to see that the strings of cloth had returned to the street scene having been missing for some 2 years. Some of these had been hired from the Neustadt guilds just to help make the area more festive.
