Leighton host 2003 Event
for the weekend 6th - 8th June
We entertained 42 guests from Titisee and 17 from Coulommiers for a weekend of activities. 2 of the German Group came by plane into Luton whilst the rest, which included 35 youngsters aged from 12 to 23 came by coach. The majority of the group (35) stayed at the Scout Headquarters in Grovebury Road. the remainder were accommodated with hosts. The French party came over by coach and stayed at the Swan Hotel in the Town Centre. The weekend was enhanced by the invitation from the Town Council to Martin Lindler the Mayor of Titisee Neustadt who will retire in October after some 24 years in the post.

The main German Group were expected to arrive about 10:30/ 11:00pm following a very long journey leaving Titisee at 5:00am in actual fact the coach arrived at 7:30pm and we had some fun trying to get the campers some evening meal which we did successfully despite holding up the official meal organised by the Town council.
