Concert at the Raven Theatre

The Whole party finally got together for a civic reception which was held at the Cedars Upper School's Raven theatre. The entertainment was provided by the Cedars Jazz band under the direction of Mr John Wearmouth, he is no stranger to twinning events having performed at previous meetings in Leighton and also on tour in Titisee Neustadt. The band performed for an hour whilst the rest of us enjoyed a hot meal.

Next on stage were another regular act at twinning events The Grand Union Rapper. who performed 2 dances using their double handled rapper knives which were originally used in the coal mines of the North East of England to remove the coal dust from the pit ponies hides. The dances involve intricate movements by the group who remain linked to each other by the Rappers.

Following the obligatory speeches and presentations the Hall erupted to the sounds of the Hefelochblätzer band and as the meal was then over there was quite a bit of room for dancing!

We had over 120 people at the event which was well received by all. I do not think the Theatre had heard such high volume music as it did that night with the Hefelochblätzer band!
