The Tree Theatre Area
To ensure that the younger members of the family were entertained an area was set aside for puppet theatre and story telling because of the layout of this area it was quite difficult to get good pictures of the activities. Circus Zapparelli are a group that provide interactive theatre featuring puppets and actors.
Our Lions Club brought along their "Lionel" land train which was kept busy all day providing rides for youngsters of all ages.
One of the more modern crafts on display was chainsaw carving where a log of wood was transformed into a bear or an eagle.
The
carving that took place were mainly bears heads and the basic shale was visible
very soon after the first cut was made. the whole process took about 15 minutes.
There were examples of the craft in completed form on display and the bear shown
on the left was really quite lifelike.
The equipment used are all standard commercial chainsaws which obviously must be used
only after proper training.
