The Capucins Park and Museum

At the heart of the town is the Capucins park where, in the 17th century, the Duchess of Longueville built a luxury chateau, unfortunately only some small ruins remain today although with some imagination you can make out a suggested image of the building from 2 view points in the park by looking at the island through a glass screen that superimposes an image of the chateau onto the landscape.

The park is laid out to formal gardens with grand vistas provided from many view points

There are, as I hope you can see many fine trees still standing in the park and the finest examples are identified with information boards . There are also some examples of local sculpture housed in the park.

A bronze of a lady with doves and a reclining figure with the rear bridge over the moat showing just how old the design of the island was.
